400g | canned peel tomato |
½ | orange(finely chopped) |
1 stalk | fresh thyme |
2 | shallots(minced) |
2~3 tbsp | whipping cream |

1 | Potato Gnocchi: Boil the potatoes with skin on until tender. Remove and leave to cool until warm. Peel and mash. |
2 | Mix the mashed potato with salt and flour. Add beaten egg and form into a dough. Knead on a table-top for a few times. Cut the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a 1-cm thick rope. Cut each rope into 2 cm pieces. |
3 | Shape with a fork if desired by rolling each gnocchi on the back of a fork from top to bottom to form dents. Sprinkle the gnocchi and a tray with some dry flour. Place the gnocchi over and keep chilled or frozen until required. |
4 | Heat 3 tbsp oil with a clove of garlic and sauté the shallots until soft. Add canned tomato and crush. Add 100 ml water and thyme. Leave to simmer for 20 minutes. |
5 | Remove the garlic and thyme from the tomato sauce and add the orange peel. Add also the crab meat and cream; adjust seasoning with salt & pepper. |
6 | Boil the gnocchi with salted boiling water until cooked. Drain and immediately add to the crab meat sauce . Leave to cook for 5 more minutes. Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil. Serve hot. |
